Mechanistic insights into synergy between nalidixic acid and tetracycline against clinical isolates of Acinetobacter baumannii and Escherichia coli
Abstract
Gaurav et al. report a synergistic interaction between nalidixic acid and tetracycline against multi-drug resistant bacteria Acinetobacter baumannii and Escherichia coli. They find that this synergy does not work for clinical isolates susceptible to antibiotics, suggesting the potential application of nalidixic acid and tetracycline against the emergence of multi-drug resistant bacteria.
