Created in 2008, the multi-disciplinary medical centers are touted as organizational tools to reach two of the main goals set by the public policies: the decompartmentalization of health professions and the improvement of the continuity of care. Their operation also refers to a more general movement: that of digitalization of public services. Consequently, the standardization of the Shared Information Systems (SISs) can be seen as a political tool serving three goals: of the regulation of the digital health market, of the evolution of professional practices and of the evaluation of medical centers. However, both the technical limitations of certified SISs and the professionals’ criticism regarding them make the appropriation of these digital tools more complex. Nevertheless, the organizational adjustments - allowed by the health authorities - and the continuous redefinition of the goals of these technologies - made by health practitioners - succeed, to some extent, in aligning political expectations, users and devices.
