Research progress on extraction, purification, structural characteristics, biological activities, and application of rose polysaccharides

Abstract

As a traditional medicinal and food homologous plant, rose not only has ornamental value, but also contains a variety of bioactive components that are beneficial to human body. Among them, rose polysaccharide is one of its main bioactive ingredients, with a variety of beneficial biological activities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-diabetes, liver protection and moisturizing. This review summarized the extraction, purification, structural characteristics, biological activities and relationship between structure and activity of rose polysaccharides, and the potential applications of rose polysaccharides were also analyzed and discussed.
