RARE CASE OF SYSTEMIC SCLEROSIS IN A CHILD AGED 4 MONTHS
Abstract
The article provides a clinical and morphologic description of a rare case of systemic sclerosis along with the beginning of the diseases during the infancy. In the clinical picture, the researchers identified occurrences of the systemic vasculitis: abundant cyanotic and red spotty rash with atrophy in the middle, thick edemas of legs and ankles, necrosis of the nail bone of the left little finger, banti's syndrome. In the histological picture, most characteristic peculiarities were: 3 stages of systemic sclerosis process development — inflammation, hardening and atrophy; disorganization of collagenous corium fibers; nidi of calcification along the borderline of corium and hypoderm; multiple ulcers of small and large intestines, perforation of one of which caused peritonitis and fatal outcome of the patient.Key words: infants, vasculitis, systemic sclerosis.
