The research reported in this paper is devoted to the impulse-radar technology when applied for unobtrusive monitoring of elderly persons. The study is focused on the influence of the positions of the sensors on the uncertainty of estimation of the three-dimensional movement trajectory of a person. The results of the experimentation, based on the synthetic data and on the real-world data, show that the configuration of the sensors has significant influence on the uncertainty of the estimation of the movement trajectory: the sensors should be located as far from each other as possible and they should not lie on the same plane, because such configuration causes significant errors of the estimation of the height-component of the position of the monitored person.
