Referendum on bullfights in Bogota (Colombia). Comment on the constitutionality of the consultation

Abstract

In this document, the author studies the constitutionality of the popular anti - bullfighting consultation that has been presented and approved by the Council of Bogota, and that aims to ask the citizens of the Colombian Capital, if they agree that bullfights are held in the city. The author also analyzes the law applicable to the case, the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court on bullfighting, as well as the competence of the Council of Bogota.
