This article deals with several meanings and interpretations of the Easter celebration among present-day Moscow residents. In 2016, the survey “Great Saturday” was conducted with the aim of discovering the main reasons for visiting church at Easter and before Easter. The research group used the hashtag #куличи2016 in questionnaires and posters that could be seen by respondents in the territory where the survey was being carried out. This was made with the aim of seeing the respondent’s posts in social networks and, thus, seeing this day “through their eyes”. It was found out that the bulk of photos were posted by women on maternal leave. Most pictures show festive food in a clearly seen layout. This illustrates the fact that for these users of social networks Easter serves as an opportunity for making their life spectacular, which, in turn, is necessary for creating a more comfortable milieu for themselves.
