PREVENCIÓN DE ENFERMEDADES BUCALES: UNA MIRADA DESDE EL PROCESO FORMATIVO DEL ESTOMATÓLOGO

Abstract

Este artículo tiene como objetivo fundamentar la necesidad del tratamiento de la prevención de enfermedades bucales como habilidad profesional del estudiante de Estomatología, a partir de un acercamiento a la teoría que la sustenta. Se empleó como métodos fundamentales de la investigación análisis-síntesis, inducción-deducción, análisis de documentos. Las autoras justifican la necesidad de estudiar la temática y la consideran novedosa desde la perspectiva de que en el contexto específico de la formación de los estomatólogos, se pondera la atención de los elementos técnicos de la profesión en detrimento del tratamiento a lo preventivo. Sin embargo, este último aspecto incide de forma notoria en su desempeño. PALABRAS CLAVE: prevención; habilidades profesionales; proceso de formación; estomatólogo. PREVENTION OF BUCAL DISEASES: A VIEW FROM THE FORMATIVE PROCESS OF THE STOMATOLOGIST ABSTRACT This article aims to substantiate the need for the treatment of oral disease prevention as a professional skill of Stomatology students, based on an approach to the theory that supports it. Analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction, document analysis were used as fundamental methods of research. The authors justify the need to study the subject and consider it innovative from the perspective that in the specific context of the training of stomatologists, attention is focused on the technical elements of the profession to the detriment of preventive treatment.
