Un audit « en pratiques »
Abstract
In order to introduce a dynamic of change, hand hygiene audits of healthcare workers are considered a key element in the prevention of healthcare-associated infections. Thus, in order to reduce this "risk", a consortium of actors from private companies and the hospital world has developed an automated and "continuous" audit system for hand hygiene. This "system" was then installed and tested in a hospital ward in the south of France. Focusing on women caregivers, this article deals with the effects of this "system" and this particular context in the group of women caregivers. Thus, "nurse-leaders" with ambivalent status regulate as much as they produce tensions, while the control effects and power relations induced by this audit shape hybrid practices at the intersection of several normative frameworks.
