In the films produced by the generation of the daughters and sons of the disappeared people by the last civil-military dictatorship, photographs occupy a central place. We can see in them how the parents appear together with the directors when they were children, or also the parents as children themselves, making a double figuration of the childhood. These stories have notably worked with materials from public and personal archives, among which the photographs occupy our special attention. I would like to dwell on the particular event that means making photographic productions of other photographs. That is to say that in the act of framing, in the decision of perspective, the choice of the angle and the light, the operator makes a reading at the same time as a new photograph is produced. In this work we will analyze the ways in which the use of photographs contributes in a decisive way to the composition of a material memory that Albertina Carri makes in her first documentary, Los rubios (2003).
