he surgical procedure can be a threat in any person's life, because it involves an emotional differentiated. The theme was chosen by the amount of feelings that the surgical procedure can awaken the life of a particular individual, since the surgery is often not an event expected. From this study also sought to understand the sentiment of the subjects who were currently preoperative clinical surgery at a hospital in the city of Lucas do Rio Verde, the phenomenon from the lived experience of the subject. Ten interviews were conducted semi-structured. Understanding the findings enabled us to construct two categories: 1 - The feeling of the subject to face the surgical procedure the first time, describes the fear of the unknown. 2 - Guidance on the surgical procedure, discusses the importance of the clarification to inimize human suffering.
