Vaccination against COVID-19 is currently the most important scientific response to the global threat that the pandemic has represented. In the first part of this article we addressed vaccine safety and effectiveness. In this second installment we will address consideration to be kept in mind in COVID-19 cases with pre-existing autoimmune rheumatic diseases, so that patients and physicians are properly informed for shared decision making. This two-part exclusive article about vaccination and rheumatic diseases appears as a response to the need of keeping PANLAR* members, Board of Directors and Global Rheumatology community up to date with the latest developments related to COVID-19 and immunization processes around the world.
