PNEUMOCOCCAL INFECTION IN CHILDREN: EVERYDAY PRACTICE
Abstract
The detailed analysis of official guidelines aiming optimization of diagnostics and treatment of home-acquired pneumonia (HAP) in children shows, that a number of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to this condition are not always evidence-based. Everyday clinical practice demonstrates, that diagnostics and treatment of HAP in children do not often correlate with any of the present standards. The aim of this study is to discuss difficult and unresolved questions of HAP diagnostics and treatment in infants and young children, basing on the analysis of real clinical cases.
