The general objective of this study was to understand, from the point of view of nursing technicians working in ambulatory, the interference of the covid-19 pandemic in quality of life at work. The specific objective was to verify the impact of the pandemic on the work of technicians, before and after the occurrence of the first cases in the city. This study is of an applied nature and a descriptive nature. Data analysis and discussion was performed under the qualitative paradigm. The study field were two Basic Health Units and an Emergency Care Unit of a city in Encosta da Serra in Rio Grande do Sul. Data collection was performed from a semi-structured interview applied in June and September 2020. Eight nursing technicians participated ofthe study. It was noticed the existence of concern on the part of some professionals in maintaining the hygiene of the environment, as well as, the hygiene of their own body. It was verified that with the pandemic, there was an increase in the valorization of health professionals, since they became the main protagonists of the controls and care of the affected population. However, on the other hand, some felt stigmatized due to the risk they represent to contagion in the pandemic. It was evidenced that the pandemic had a huge impact on the quality of life at work of health professionals, due to stress and constant concern about the possibility of contamination.
