Bibliometric trend for development of abstract database «Ukrainika Naukova»

Abstract

The features of the international bibliometric systems development and the problems of using bibliometric indices to evaluate research efficiency have been considered. The research activity of the leading Ukrainian scientific and educational institutions, the publications of which are to be included in the global scientific information systems, has been analyzed. The focus is made on the problems of the futher integration of two national scientific information resources, namely the abstract database «Ukrayinika Naukova» and the national repository of accredited publications «Scientific Periodicals of Ukraine», to form the integrated scientific information complex «Science of Ukraine» on the basis of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. The reasonability and the prospects of bibliometric trend for development of the abstract database «Ukrayinika Naukova» in the context of the topical problem of representing research works by Ukrainian scientists in the global scientific information space, have been grounded.
