Travail des Maghrébines en France : spécificités et freins

Abstract

This contribution deals with the employment situation of North African women immigrants in Normandy and their specific work and career development. In the first part, we present the specifics of women immigrant work of and the consequences of the migration which is an opportunity for some of them whereas it may be a source of difficulties for others. We focus on the importance of factors such as education, diploma, origin and the context in which arrives and evolves the immigrant woman. We also show that the feminization of migration from North Africa and the gradual entry of these women in the labor market in France are gradually changing images and representations conveyed on the North African immigrant women in France.
