Implemented by the China Center for Town Reform and Development local Chinese governments and relevant organizations, the project aimed at protecting children’s rights and well-being, and at developing communities that help children participate fully in school and family life. Three communities, from Beijing, Tianjing and Shanghai, were selected as pilot communities for this project. At the conclusion of the project, UNICEF invited a team of specialists in the field of sociology, program evaluation and other related disciplines to review and document experiences and lessons learned from the project.
