Konstytucjonalizm a populizm – wymiar teoretyczny
Abstract
In recent years the relations between constitutionalism and populism arouse controversy. Some of the authors argue that any form of populism threatens the fundamental values and principles of constitutionalism. However, some of them claim that populism could improve or reshape the dominant form of constitutionalism. Other authors maintain that the analysis of populism and their relation to constitutinalism must be highly sensitive to context. When populism rejects pluralism as the main value of the political community, then there should be no doubt that such form of populism is contrary to the fundamentals of constitutionalism. However, if populism accepts pluralism as the main value of the political community, then this kind of populism may be treated as the element of strengthening democracy as one the fundamentals of constitutionalism.
