Due to nonspecific clinical presentation, scrub typhus is grossly underdiagnosed in pregnant women, fetuses and neonates. Here, we present a congenital infection case and hope to provide more insight into this disease. Keywords: neonatal scrub typhus, vertical transmission, congenital infection, Orientia tsutsugamushi, meningitis
