The academic productions about high school in the field of educational policies in the period from 1998 to 2016: historical themes, singularities and gaps
Abstract
The purpose of this text is to examine the academic production about high school in the field of educational policies in the period from 1998 to 2016. Some of the most meaningful aspects of the investigation in the referred period are presented. The sources, the ways and the dimension of the bibliographic research are expounded, coming from the following sources: a) academic production in theses; b) well qualified journals in the field of education; and c) studies presented in the Working Groups: State and Educational Policy and Work and Education from the National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Education (Anped). It is intended, in general, to show the tensions and challenges for researches about high school in the context of educational policies, based on the dimensions and historic conflicts in the stage of Basic Education. It was observed that some historic themes are recurring in the debate about high school, but there are also certain singularities in some debates, as well as some important gaps regarding the advancements in knowledge in the field.
