Un filtro per i "Sepolcri". Schede arcadiche foscoliane

Abstract

This essay examines the motif of the sepulchre, a well represented theme in the Neapolitan humanistic ambience, where the lesson of the ancients is still very important. The article focuses on Sannazaro’s Arcadia and on his religion of memory, along with the motifs of the eternalizing power of poetry and the pitiful nature, both anticipating Ugo Foscolo’s tones. As a matter of fact, in many cases the prosimetron may be associated to the poem Dei Sepolcri, in dialogue with the classical past, but also with the twentieth century.
