Possibilities for the development of agricultural production are largely determined by available natural conditions. In this sense, in particular, land stands out, as indispensable and primary production asset in agriculture. The fact that arable land in Vojvodina is close to 90% of total agricultural land and that there are 0.78 hectares per capita, makes this area naturally predisposed for field (and associated livestock) production. Since even countries with much more developed agriculture have no more available arable land per capita, land can not be considered as limiting factor of crop production in this region. This only could be manner and intensity of use of this important natural resource. Attention of authors in this paper is focused on use of arable land in AP Vojvodina and achieved yields, as an important indicator of intensity level of crop production. The analysis has been limited to five main field crops since in recent years these crops occupy 82% of arable land (corn 41%, wheat 20%, sunflower 10%, 7.5% soybean and sugar beet 3.5%) in the province.
