Conjugal Violence from a Relational Perspective: Battered/Aggressors Men and Women
Abstract
This paper discusses the data of a research about the conjugal violence. The study aimed at identify conceptions on violence, conjugal context, kinds of aggression, feelings stirred up by such occurrences and there consequences on the health of those involved in them. A sample composed by ten battered/aggressor subjects (seven men and three women) was interviewed through a semi-structured script, wich approached the points of interest. The thematic analysis of the interviews content showed that the lack of compatibility within the daily routine have been used to explain the difficulty of relationship. Thus, the intolerance to alterity have become the main conflicting situation, which makes it harder to deal with the psychosocial divergences and causes violent physical and/or psychological episode.
