THE SYNONYMY OF SYNTACTICAL CONSTRUCTIONS IN NOVEL “TIGER TRAPPERS” BY I. BAHRIANYI

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to study the synonymy of syntactic construction and compound sentence in novel “Tiger trappers” by I. Bahrianyi . The object of the analysis were participial construction, dangling participle and compound sentence in novel “Tiger trappers” by I. Bahrianyi, that belong to the actively used constructions and become synonyms. The subject of this article is the structural, grammatical, semantic and functional properties of syntactical constructions and compound sentence. The descriptive and contrastive methods are used in this linguistic research. Results: the study of the synonymy of syntactic constructions is an important aspect of a comparative research of the grammatical structure of a language. This allows not only to reveal common and specific features of similar units, but also to reveal their functional features. Therefore syntactic synonyms perform the functions of substitution, refinement and variety of the meaning of the sentence. In further research it is necessary to pay attention to syntactic synonymy in the poetic works of Ukrainian writers.
