In the title compound, C16H11NO2, the benzofuran and indole ring systems are nearly orthogonal, subtending a dihedral angle of 86.55 (4)°. The crystal structure features an N—H...O hydrogen bond, which leads to the formation of chains propagating along the a-axis direction.
