Application of aspirin in the primary prevention of stroke

Abstract

Aspirin is effective in the second prevention for stroke. However, its benefits and risk in the primary prevention are disputed. Based on current clinical observation, only part of the population could benefit from aspirin in the primary prevention. This article focuses on the evidence, mechanism, applicable people and risk assessment in the application of aspirin based on guidelines and important articles for the primary prevention of stroke.
