As a result of processing materials on scarab beetles 309 taxa of species’ group in Southern Federal District (Southern Russia) have been revealed. The previous literary data are critically generalized. The known points of findings for all the taxa are resulted. The following synonymy is established in the work: Bolboceratini = Australobolbini, syn. n., Bodilus Mulsant et Rey, 1870 = Bodiloides Dellacasa et Dellacasa, 2005, syn. n.; Acrossus bolognai (Carpaneto, Piattella, 1986) = Aphodius (Acrossus) prometheus Kabakov in Kabakov et Frolov, 1996, syn. n., Bodilus ictericus (Laicharting, 1781) = Aphodius (Bodilus) crimensis W. Koshantschikov, 1913, syn. n., Planolinus fasciatus (Olivier, 1789) = Aphodius (Agoliinus) satunini Olsoufiev, 1918, syn. n., Parammoecius brevithorax (Sumakov, 1903), stat. resurr., (restored from synonyms Serraphodius circassicus (Reitter, 1892)), comb. n. = Aphodius osseticus Iablokov, 1972, syn. n. = Aphodius interfinius Ziani, 1999, syn. n., Anoxia tristis Reitter, 1902, nom. resurr., sp. bona (restored from synonyms Anoxia villosa var. tristis Reitter) = Anoxia tristis Shokhin, 2001, syn. n., Lasiopsis caninus (Zoubkov, 1829) = Lasiopsis caninus caucasicus Semenov, 1900, syn. n., Protaetia (Netocia) Costa, 1852 = Potosia Mulsant, 1871, syn. n. The synonymy of Aphodius Illiger, 1798 (s.str.) = Rhodaphodius Adams, 1994 is proved. Anomala (s. str.) dubia abchasica Motschulsky, 1854, stat. n. goes down to subspecies. Taxipertha Baraud, 1991, stat. n. raises up to genus (from the subgenus Exomala (Taxipertha)). New combinations of Taxipertha arenicola (Mulsant, Pellet, 1870) comb. n. (moved from the genus Exomala) and Taxipertha mlokosiewiczi (Zaitzev, 1917), comb. n. (moved from the genus Asiopertha) are resulted. The division of the tribe Melolonthini in subtribes Melolonthina (suitable name Melolonthidae Leach in Samouelle is used, 1819), nom. resurr. and Polyphyllina (suitable name Polyphyllidae Burmeister is used, 1855), nom. resurr is offered. Subgenus Philhelena J. Thomson, 1810, nom. resurr. (type species: Cetonia afflicta Gory, Percheron, 1833) is restored from synonyms of Netocia Costa, 1852. The position of Protaetia (Netocia) metallica volhyniensis (Gory et Percheron, 1833), stat. resurr. as a subspecies of Protaetia metallica (Herbst, 1782) (it was earlier considered to be a subspecies of Protaetia cuprea (Fabricius, 1775)) is restored. New replacing name Odonteini, nom. n. (for tribe Bolboceratini sensu auct.) is resulted. Serraphodius Kabakov, 1996, stat. n. (from synonyms Pseudoacrassus), and Calamosternus suturifer (Reitter, 1893), stat. resurr. are restored (from synonyms Calamosternus trucidatus (Harold, 1863)). Valgiinae are considered to be a separate subfamily
