Laser rangefinders in air defense

Abstract

Various types of military lasers are discussed, especially laser rangefinders for air defense applications. The paper gives a more detailed description of Nd-YAG laser rangefinder with Raman cell that increases the wavelength of radiation and makes a laser eye-safe. A review of contemporary high frequency laser rangefinders is given too. Some procedures to enhance the of range measurement are proposed.
