Political Action as a Special Type of Directing of Mass Concert and Entertainment Events

The aim of this study is to comprehend the specific features of technology and directing of the phenomenon of theatricalization of political action. Research methodology. Culturological and semiotic approach is the basic one. Besides, the axiological approach, the descriptive method, the com-parative analysis method and the generalization method are used. Results. Political action as a theatrical phenomenon is a public and political action aimed at attracting the attention of the media and society in order to assert or counteract the authority and power of influence of the authorities. Theatricalization, as a creative method for the existence of a modern political action, is to create an artistic image through the synthesis of documentary material and fiction by the means of theater. The staging of a political action as a mass theatrical spectacle is generally constructed according to the standard scheme of staging a mass holiday. There are many features and subtleties of the director’s plan depending on the specific features of the political mass event: the main purpose of the action, venue, scale and capabilities (material, creative). The use of modern technology of such political actions is no less important than providing the ideological and artistic aspect of any theatrical performance, which sometimes acquires even more important functions of influencing the mass audience and the severity of the problems posed by society. Novelty. An attempt is made at defining characteristic aspects of technologies and directing of political mass events. The author attempts to reveal the phenomenon of theatricalization of political mass events as a subject of social life and element of political culture of society. The practical significance. Prospects for further research in studying and forecasting the development trends of political action, laying the foundations for further theoretical studies in the field of mass forms of dramatic art are proposed.
