In recent years, researchers have made significant contributions to the field of Surface Plasmon Resonance sensors and their potential applications. SPR features include real-time monitoring of biomolecular interactions, label-free detection, high sensitivity, and the ability to analyze multiple samples at the same time. These characteristics make SPR biosensors a valuable tool in the pharmaceutical industry for ensuring drug efficacy and safety. Furthermore, SPR sensors have a reputation for providing quantitative and qualitative superior performance in real-time applications such as drug development, environmental monitoring, food safety, medical diagnostics, clinical diagnosis, biological investigations, and biomolecule interactions. This review will go over recent advances in SPR biosensors and how they can be used in drug discovery and development. We will also look at the challenges and opportunities of using SPR biosensors in the pharmaceutical industry.
