DEFINING OF GENERAL LANGUAGE TERMS AND LINGUISTIC TERMINOLOGY IN NEW ITALIAN GRAMMAR BOOK BY FRANJO MILIČEVIĆ

Abstract

Besides the short description of the content structure the paper also analyzes general language terms and presents linguistic terminology of New Italian grammar book by Franjo Miličević which was published in 1874 by the Catholic legation press in Mostar. With the orthographic and grammatical norm the Grammar book presents the continuation of the Bosnian Franciscans grammatical tradition. The characteristics set it apart from the older grammar books made in BiH care noticed by studying its content, descriptive definitions, names and ways of forming grammatical materials. Emergence of the Grammar book and similar texts in the 1870-ies marked the beginning of serious linguistic interests and activities in Herzegovina.
