Ethnobotanical properties of plant taxa that naturally distributed in Korgan (Ordu) province

People have been in interaction with the environment and plants from the existence of humanity to the present day. The people living in a certain geographical area use plants for different purposes like food, medical, fuel, industry, ornamental. The plant richness has reached to the present day with cultural life in Anatolia where has hosted many civilizations together with the people adopting the established life. This study was carried out to determine some natural plant taxa that are consumed as a food in the Korgan (Ordu) borders and the ethnobotanic properties of these plant taxa. A survey of 25 questions was carried out to 119 people from the local population in the boundaries of the Korgan district. As result of study, 23 taxa belonging to 16 families, which are naturally distributed and consumed as food, were determined. Ethnobotanical use of these taxa, 12 of the food, 2 of spices, 13 of which is used as a tea and 2 as ornamental plants.
