This article aims to investigate the perception of high school students about the satisfaction of their basic psychological needs in music learning, mediated by digital technologies (Reeve 2006; Ryan and Deci 2017; Deci and Ryan 2000; (Deci and Flaste 1998). According to the Self-Determination Theory, motivation is influenced by intrapersonal and interpersonal factors, that is, internal and external factors that influence motivation. According to Ryan and Deci (2017; 2000), environments in which subjects have freedom in their choices (support for autonomy) and the activities are in accordance with their abilities (perception of competence), they provide a social bond (feeling of belonging). by André Morin (2004). The results indicated that the students' motivation in the arts/music classes was not intrinsically motivated, but extrinsically, in their more self-determined levels.
