A small collection of unpublished documents from the archives of Saint-Martin de Troarn allows us to explore and discuss various aspects of the exploitation and topography of the saltworks of the Dives estuary from the 12th to the 14th century. This period forms the last chapter in the history of saltworks which began in the Iron Age and disappeared from the area in the 15th century. These unpublished documents constitute one of the scarce testimonies to the Norman saltwork industry, which can be traced back to British sources, but had escaped Lucien Musset's attention.
