Among the skills to be developed in the study of reactive power compensation control devices in electrical power systems is the analysis of the control models of static reactive compensators. Python is free software that allows data analysis, control and simulation of electrical power systems. The objective of the article is to propose an application that allows the study of reactive power compensation that helps improve the teaching-learning process of the subject of Power Electronics. The study was based on a qualitative - descriptive methodology in which analytical - synthetic and inductive - deductive methods were used and the survey was used as empirical methods. For the processing and analysis of the information collected, the calculation of absolute and relative frequencies was used as a statistical method. The results corroborate the importance of using the proposed method to improve the teaching-learning process.
