A new species of Rheum is described from the Uzengu-Kuush River Basin (Inner Tien Shan, Kyrgyzstan), which grows at a relatively high elevation on stony rubble habitats. In its habit and morphological characters, this species resembles R. wittrockii Lundstr. and R. sublanceolatum C.Y.Cheng & T.S.Kao but differs from the first with basal leaves sublanceolate and from last one with inflorescence more branched and dense. Identification key for Kyrgyz species of Rheum and map of distribution area of new species are provided. Keywords: Inner Tien Shan, Kyrgyz Republic, New species, Rheum L., Uzengu-Kuush River basin
