ASSEMBLING SOME PARTS BY COLD PLASTIC WELDING

Abstract

This paper presents research on the non-removable assembly by cold plastic welding of parts made of materials of different nature. In this sense, cylindrical samples were made of S235 which were assembled by pressing with aluminum intermediate plate. 2 steel samples and one aluminum sample were made. After pressing, the assembly was sectioned longitudinally. The hardness of the diffusion layer was measured at different points depending on its thickness and the microstructural analysis of the joint was made.
