Obesity and arterial hypertension. Part I: weight reduction and blood pressure normalisation

Abstract

The review is devoted to the problem of arterial hypertension (AH) combined with obesity. Pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical methods for weight reduction, as well as their effects on blood pressure (BP), are emphasised. Sibutramine safety in AH and obesity management is analysed. The most effective regimens of antihypertensive therapy combined with pharmaceutical weight reduction are discussed.
