SIMULATION SYSTEM OF THE PROCESS OF SERVING PATIENTS IN MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS FOR MANAGEMENT DECISION SUPPORT
Abstract
Background. This study is devoted to solving one of the important health problems in the field of providing medical care to the population – supporting management decisions in organizing the work of medical institutions. The purpose of this study was to develop a modeling system to support managerial decision-making in the field of managing medical institutions and assess the possibility of its application. Materials and methods. As a test example, a system of three medical institutions with a staff of general practitioners and cardiologists was used. The data of the work schedule and workload of doctors were analyzed. The AnyLogic environment was used as a simulation modeling tool. Results. A scheme of interaction between systems and users, as well as a functional model of the system, has been developed. Based on the initial data, using the AnyLogic modeling tool, a simulation model of the patient service process in a network of medical institutions was built. The results of experiments to increase the workload and reduce the number of specialists are presented. Conclusions. The results show that the chosen approach is workable and the developed system can be used to support managerial decision making. Further development of the system may be related to providing remote access to simulation data for officials.
