Evaluation of potential retention and specific flows in the Fryšávka river basin during the projected torrential rain
Abstract
The aim of the research was to assess the hydrological proportions of basin parts of the Frysavka River basin located in the southern part of the CHKO Žďárské vrchy (Žďárské Vrchy Protected Landscape Area) during the projected torrential rain in dependence of the actual state of the land cover and by this to identify the basin part with the reduced retention potential and higher specific flow. Detailed mapping of the current state of land cover and terrain relief, analysis of hydrological soil proportions and determination of basin parts was connected to introduced aim. The preparation and analyses of collected data were made in the program ArcGIS 9.2 of ArcView software products using a set of integrated software applications ArcMap, ArcCatalog and ArcToolbox. To assess the potential retention and peak flows was used the model DesQ-MAX Q. Modeling of hydrological proportions has been done to projected torrential rain of a 100–year recurrence interval. The research results should be used in the design and realization of flood prevention steps in the area of inter
