In France, French-Turkish students are often considered resistant to learning French. With the goal of making the educational system more fair, this article intends to understand the relationship of these children’s mothers to the languages in contact. Though a case study, we hightlight the tensions between identity issues and language appropriation trajectories. This study took place in the context of an ethnosociolinguistics project led on the school grounds as part of National Education coeducational programm called « Ouvrir l’école aux parents pour la réussite des enfants ». From a critical sociodidactic perspective, this contribution offers a path to an efficient educational alliance.
