ObjectiveTo understand the drug resistance and homology of diarrheagenic Escherichia coli (E. coli), from food in Jiamusi, and to provide basis for effective control of food borne diseases and clinical treatment.MethodsMultiple polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to detect diarrheagenic E. coli in food. Drug resistance of diarrheagenic E. coli isolated from food in Jiamusi was analyzed by Sensitire microbial sensitivity analysis system, and the homology of isolates was analyzed by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE).ResultsFifty one strains of diarrheagenic E. coli were isolated from 1 320 samples with a total positive rate of 3.86%. Twenty one strains of them were resistant to drugs (41.18%), among which 3 were single drug-resistant and other 18 were multi drug-resistant. A total of 49 different PFGE fingerprints were obtained from 51 strains of diarrheagenic E. coli, and the homology was 38.6%~100%.ConclusionThe multi drug-resistant of diarrheagenic E. coli from food in Jiamusi is obvious. The homology is polymorphic.
