Analyse de la diffusion spatiale du sanio dans le sud-ouest du bassin arachidier du Sine (Sénégal)
Abstract
In recent decades, the groundnut basin is subject to drought, pushing its farmers to abandon groundnuts and cereal varieties with long cycle including sanio. However, with the increase in rainfall observed since the 2000s, we are witnessing a recovery of some crops that were abandoned including sanio. The main objective of the study is to explore the forms of spatial diffusion of the sanio, using Exploratory Spatial Temporal Data Analysis and the centrographic measures. The data come from two surveys carried out by the French Development Research Institute in 2015 and 2016 and the National Agency of Civilian Aviation and Meteorology of Senegal (ANACIM). The results reveal the existence of a privileged direction of the spatial diffusion of the sanio, the east-south-east, where we note a greater spatial agglomeration of the villages adopting sanio. The sanio diffusion is more intense in the center and in the south-east, where the role of spatial proximity is important. The zones of weak presence of the sanio are found mainly in the north and south.
