A new azo schiff base ligand, together with its metal complexes, was synthesized and characterized from a thiosemicarbazid moiety. The title (E)-2-((2-hydroxy-3-((E)-(3-nitrophenyl)diazenyl)naphthalen-1-yl)methylene)hydrazine-1-carbothioamide)(HL),was synthesized by reacting((-2-hydroxy-3-((3-nitrophenyl)diazenyl) withan thiosemicabazide in a 1:1 molar ratio,HL interacted with different metal ions (Cr,Mn,Co,Ni and Cu) to from monomerci coordination complexes .Arsng of spectroscopic and analytical techniques ,including conductance studies, H1 and C13-NMR,FT-IR, electronic and mass spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility, and elemental micro-analysis,were used to extensivety characterize these complexes.Coordinate compounds with four and six-coordinate geometries were confirmed to from based on the characterization data .
