Abstract

TRPV1 (Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 1) channel receptors are widely espressed in small sensory C and Ad fiber. They have also been observed in the Central Nervous System and in physiological membranes of several tissues. TRPV1 have also been observed in many organs and their increased expression contributes to development and perception of the somatic and visceral pain. TRPV1 channels might be a potential therapeutic target for chronic and neuropathic pain management.
