Background : The knowledge of women about methods of cooking food materials is very important in keeping family members healthy. Objective : To assess the knowledge of women who live in ray city about methods of cooking food materials. Design : This was a field study in which the knowledge of women about cooking food materials were determined by using a questionnaire. Samples : 200 women who were living in ray city and were responsible in preparing food for their families. Were selected randomly in two sequence. Results : The findings indicated that only 18.5% of women had a good knowledge about cooling food materials. Conclusion : According to research findings it is recommended to use different strategies to improve women's knowledge about preparing food for their families. Also similar researches in different social groups or in rural and urban women will help to use better strategies.
