Veintiseis años despues: el plan de estudios, 1960
Abstract
Five curricula (1934-1986) of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia Medical School are presented. Factors that determined changes and the 1960 curriculum are discussed. As final recommendations, it is advised: 1. Further selection through personal interview of students admitted once a year. 2.To preserve the present curricular main subjects while rearrangeing the sequence of clinical teaching to: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetries & Gynecology and Pediatrics. 3. To teach compulsorily for evaluation only fundamentals of each area of Science and Arts pertaining to medicine and Surgery, in their broadest sense, and useful for instruction of a good General Practitioner. 4. To establish optional courses for general subjects as well as Nosology and Nosography lectures, and an initial examination of the latter before each main clinical subject. 5. To teach comprehensively for Colombia's Medical and Public Health needs.
