Continuity of library services during the COVID-19 pandemic – the example of the Main Library of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin
Abstract
Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, libraries around the world had to choose which services to offer readers and how to provide them. It became necessary to impose restrictions, minimize face-to-face service and ensure safe handling of library mate-rials while enabling users to satisfactorily access the information sources they needed. The aim of the article is to present how ser-vices in the Main Library of the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin were modified immediately after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and in its subsequent stages, as well as to analyse changes in the library’s communication with users and their use of library resources.
