Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of anger management intervention with cognitive-behavioral approach and gradual muscle relaxation on the quality of marital relationship and moral anxiety among married males of substance abusers. Methods: The method of this research is semi-experimental using a pretest and post-test design with two experimental and control groups. Participants in this study were male abusers who were selected from one of the addiction treatment centers in Shahrood. Using random sampling, 30 patients from the center of addiction treatment were randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. An intervention program for anger management with a cognitive-behavioral approach and gradual muscle relaxation for 12 sessions of 90 minutes on the group Experiment done. To collect the required data in measuring the variables of the research, two questionnaires of the 16 factors of the character of Kettel (1975) and the quality of marriage questionnaire were used by Busby et al. (1995). Also follow-up of treatment interventions was performed again after three months in both groups.
