Vertebrobasilar junction fenestration: An uncommon intracranial vascular anomaly
Abstract
Fenestration of the intracranial arteries is more commonly reported in the anterior communicating artery than in the basilar artery. Vertebrobasilar junction fenestration is a subtype of basilar artery fenestration with a different embryological origin and is rarely described in angiographic studies. Association of aneurysm with vessel fenestration has been well documented. We report a case of the vertebrobasilar junction fenestration in a patient with a ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysm.
